Crystal clear Springs supply our trout streams with 56-59 degree water all year. Trout season in our spring fed rivers and creeks is 365 days a year.  Fly Fishing for Smallmouth bass is good from early Spring to late Fall.

Some of our springs are huge, like Greer Spring. It supplies 214 million gallons of water each day. It is only one of several springs in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways system that supplies between 53 million and 286 million gallons of water to our streams daily.

Some of the springs are small, like Falling Spring. This tiny spring enters the Big Piney River from the base of a small bluff about 10 feet above the stream. It is just one of countless small springs that feed the creeks and rivers of the Missouri Ozarks.

I caught my first trout on a fly rod over 45 years ago in Mill Creek. I didn't know at the time how lucky I was to be able to fish that tiny little creek, all day by myself, and not see another person. The creek hasn't changed much but the fishing pressure has. I have to say that the fish are much smarter now....Catch and release fishermen, will do that to them.
